Nestled along Richmond’s historic Franklin Street corridor, the Scott House represents one of the University’s most architecturally significant residences and contributes to the civic character of Monroe Park Campus.
Following an extensive building renovation, Fall Line was engaged to restore the surrounding landscape in a manner that honored both the home’s architectural heritage and its contemporary use by the University.
The resulting landscape quietly reinforces the architecture through restrained planting design, seasonal expression, and historically appropriate materials. Rather than competing with the building, the gardens frame it—creating an experience that feels timeless while strengthening visitors’ connection to one of VCU’s enduring cultural assets.
